Directions From Inverness By Car:

From Inverness cross over the Moray Firth and head north on the A9 for approximately 10 miles.

Turn Right onto the B9169 (becoming the B9163) signposted for Cromarty and Culbokie. Stay on this road for approximately 7.3 miles, driving through the village of Culbokie on the way.

At this point you will reach a crossroads signposted for Springfield to your right and Alness Ferry (No Ferry) to your left. There is also a war memorial on your left and Resolis Primary School on your right.

Continue on for approximately another mile until you reach a turn on your right signposted for Resolis Memorial Hall and Newhall.

Turn Right here and drive down the hill to the end of the road.

At the bottom, by the Hall turn Left and continue on for another half a mile until you reach the village of Newhall. Drive through the village, going past the old Newhall Primary School (now boarded up) and continue on for approximately one fifth of a mile.

At this point the road goes round to the left on a blind bend. On your left you will see a house and on your right there is an unmade farm drive with 3 commercial-size wheelie bins and 3 normal size wheelie bins at the end of it. There is also a public footpath sign.

Turn Right onto the drive and stay on it for approximately half a mile, going down the slope, over the stream, up the slope, past a white bungalow on your right, round the bend and head towards the farmyard. Cornfield Cottage is on your left just BEFORE the farmyard.
